House painting in Santiago City, Isabela

Home Call paints inside and outside walls of houses and shops in Santiago City. Most paint jobs fail because of what's under the paint, so most of our time goes into preparation.

Building a new house?

When to call us for painting

New walls need different care from old ones. We work alongside your foreman or contractor, and we quote from your plans.

  1. Let new plaster cure

Fresh plaster holds moisture. Painting too early causes peeling and white powder. We'll tell you when the walls are ready.

  2. Primer for new walls

New concrete needs the right primer before any colour goes on.

  3. Paint near the end

After electrical, plumbing and ceilings, so nothing gets scratched or cut into.

  4. Colours on the wall

Test patches on your actual walls, so you choose in real light.

Fixing or replacing?

The painting problems we see most

Peeling and bubbling

Paint went on over a damp or dusty wall, or over old paint that was already flaking.

Cracks that come back

Hairline cracks filled with paint alone open up again.

Black spots

Mildew on damp, shady walls, painted over without treatment.

White powder on walls

Salts pushed out of the concrete by moisture. Paint won't stick to it.

How we do it right

Our painting checklist

  1. Scrape and wash

Loose paint off, dust and dirt washed down.

  2. Fill the cracks

Cracks opened, filled and sanded smooth.

  3. Treat mildew

Killed and cleaned, not painted over.

  4. Primer first

A primer that suits the surface, so the paint grips.

  5. Finish coats

Two finish coats. Brand and colour written on your quote.

  6. Protect and clean up

Floors, windows and furniture covered. Clean edges, no drips.

Before you hire anyone

Four questions to ask any painter

Ask whoever you're thinking of hiring, us included. A good answer is specific. "Don't worry, boss" isn't an answer.

  1. What do you do before the first coat?
  2. Which paint brand, and how many coats?
  3. Do you use primer?
  4. How do you treat cracks and mildew?

Questions

Painting: what people ask

How long does exterior paint last?

It depends on the prep, the paint and how much sun the wall gets. Good prep and a proper exterior paint last years longer than paint over a dirty wall.

Can you paint while we live in the house?

Yes. We cover floors and furniture and work room by room.

Do you supply the paint?

We can, or we use paint you've already bought. Brand, colour and number of coats go on the quote either way.
