When to call us for plumbing

Pipes are the hardest thing to change once the floor and walls are finished. We work alongside your foreman or contractor, and we quote from your plans.

  1. Before the floor is poured

Drain lines laid with the right slope before the slab goes in.

  2. Before plastering

Water lines run and pressure tested before the walls are closed.

  3. Fix the fixture positions

Toilet, sink and shower positions decided early, so pipes end in the right places.

  4. Fixtures last

Toilets, faucets and sinks fitted after tiling.

Fixing or replacing?

The plumbing problems we see most

Leaks inside walls

Damp patches, peeling paint, and a water meter that moves with every tap closed.

Slow, smelly drains

Wrong slope, no trap, or grease built up over years.

Low water pressure

Old pipes clogged with rust and scale, or leaks along the line.

Running toilets

A worn flapper or fill valve wasting water all day.

How we do it right

Our plumbing checklist

  1. Find the leak first

Meter test and checks before anything gets broken open.

  2. Show you the cause

Photos of what's wrong before we quote.

  3. The right pipe

PPR for water lines, PVC for drains.

  4. Pressure tested

New water lines pressure tested before the wall is closed.

  5. Drains done right

Proper slope and traps, so water runs and smells stay out.

  6. Checked again

Every joint checked for leaks before we leave.

Before you hire anyone

Four questions to ask any plumber

Ask whoever you're thinking of hiring, us included. A good answer is specific. "Don't worry, boss" isn't an answer.

  1. What pipe are you using for the water lines?
  2. Will you pressure test before closing the wall?
  3. How will you find the leak without breaking every wall?
  4. Do the drains have traps to stop smells?

Questions

Plumbing: what people ask

How do I know I have a hidden leak?

Close every tap and watch your water meter. If it still moves, water is going somewhere.

PPR or PVC?

PPR pipes are joined by heat, so the joints don't leak and they handle hot water. PVC is fine for drains.

Can you clear a drain without breaking tiles?

Usually, yes. We clear it through the drain and its cleanouts first. Breaking tiles is the last option, and we ask you before we do.
